The Financial Conduct Authority published an article on the 20th March 2020 to assist regulated firms identify key workers in financial services. As such, we thought it would be useful for those of you who have children and are key to the provision of financial services for us to provide you with guidance on this matter.
As you will be aware the UK Government has implemented provisions that allow children to continue to be schooled if their parents are deemed key workers. This includes parents who work in financial services and are deemed a ‘key financial worker’.
Of course, wherever possible parents are being asked to keep their children at home and it is expected that only a limited number of people will be deemed a ‘key financial worker’. However, if you do fall under one of the categories that the FCA deem a key worker and you have no alternative but to have your child schooled then the FCA have provided guidance of what you need to do.
