The FCA has decommissioned the annual REP022 – General Insurance Pricing Attestation return. While this reduces one administrative requirement, it does not remove a firm’s regulatory obligations. Firms with insurance permissions, particularly those advising on or arranging home or motor insurance and related add-ons or premium finance, must continue to ensure their pricing practices comply with the FCA’s rules. This includes monitoring price-setting activities, maintaining robust internal controls, and documenting processes clearly.
Even without REP022, a firms regulatory responsibilities remain unchanged and any failure to meet the rules must be notified to the FCA promptly.
It’s also important to note that other reporting obligations have remained in place. The other general insurance returns, REP021(c), (d) and (e), must still be completed annually, providing the FCA with detailed data on renewals, premium finance, and related activities.
